The innovative vehicle, designed by Rollerblade co-founder Scott Olson, aims to replicate the workout of a rowing machine while taking that exercise out of the gym and onto the road. Riders can power the cycle's handcrafted aluminium frame forward using the patented handlebar system, which transmits power from the rider's rowing motion through to a chain-driven gear on the rear axle. The four-wheeled cycle also has front and back brakes to enable the vehicle to stop in all weather conditions, as well as a seven-speed derailleur gear system and a mounted footrest for comfort. Robert Buntz, president of RowBike, said:"Scott Olson came up with the idea on a beautiful spring day while using an indoor rowing machine at a local health club.
